Making a call
The Silentel application allows you to make a standard call, which is of course also encrypted. You can call a user who is listed in the Contact list of the Silentel application and you have rights to do it as well; e.g. if you have purchased
Silentel Managed Services - Voice & Messages or
Silentel Managed Services - Voice product. Next interactive presentation shows you how to make a call.
- After logging in, you can see your contact list. Availability is indicated by the green symbol next to the name.
- Use the joystick to navigate the contact list and to select the person you would like to call.
- Press the OPTIONS button and select CALL... or simply press the CALL button to initiate a call.
- Silentel then initiates the call to the selected person.
- The next screen is displayed once the connection is established and the call is accepted. After the beep, signifying that the key exchange is complete, you can begin speaking normally.
- If you want to mute the microphone, press the right MUTE button. The screen status will change to Microphone Muted.
- To resume speaking, press the UNMUTE button. The screen status will change to Connected.
- To hang up, press OPTION and select HANG UP, or simply press the End Call button on the keypad of your phone.
- You will return to the Contact List when the call is ended.
