What is QSign?

The basic precondition for the validity of a document signed with qualified electronic signature is the availability of an application for creation and verification of qualified electronic signature certified by the National Security Office of the Slovak Republic.

QSign is such an application.

QSign is a software application for electronic signing, verification, and archiving important information with full legal force supported by law. This application can provide for authenticity, integrity, and dependability of confidential documents and files while preserving easy handling by the user and easy access.

Dependability and authenticity of secured electronic documents is based on the ability to guarantee that the data displayed on the screen is identical to the data the user signs (WYSIWYS „What you see is what you sign“) and moreover, to guarantee that the document does not contain any other data the signing user does not know about or he/she can easily overlook (WYSIWYT „What you see is what you trust“). These elementary security requirements are fulfilled by using the QSign product, which can be used within the framework of an arbitrary office package or application software running under Microsoft® Windows®.
