Tap on a row with user’s name on the Contacts tab and tap Call button in the action menu to make a secured call using the Silentel application.

If called user accepts your call, the application starts building secured communication channel (“Building call” screen). When the channel is established, you can speak (“Call in progress” screen).
 

Receiving a call has similar steps. But in case of incoming call first you can tap on Accept button to start building a call. Otherwise tap Reject.

Contact list can show you which users are in call and which are idle. Next screen shows you an example. You can see a status icon at the end of the row of those users, whose are in call. It does not mean that Brian is calling to Richard. The status icon represents only if someone is calling at the moment or not, so you can check if you can call somebody now or later after he ends conversation.
